Milenco Cargo Bar

I have often been concerned that when travelling with stuff in the van that it may shift, especially under braking, and cause instability.

Whilst mooching around on the net I came across the Milenco Cargo Bar which fits between  two bits of furniture,in our case between the rear dinette seat bases, and prevents movement of transported equipment.

The quality of the bar is very good and it fits in seconds.

I got it from Kenmore Caravans via E Bay and it cost about £21.

If you decide to purchase be careful to buy the correct one as there are two sizes,I got the "small",20" - 36".

I notice you have loaded your chairs etc in the dinette area, I am sure you check the nose weight but with a lot of heavy equipment over/behind the axle already eg heater, batt, gas, toilet it is soon very light on coupling i keep front at least 7% on hook it seems more stable

  2. John,

Yes I have checked the nose weight on our last outing and it was just 75Kg which is the limit of the towball.

7% of the MTPLM would be about 87% which is too heavy for the tow ball specifications.

The chairs won't fit any where else ,they are too big for the car but to compensate I have put the Wastemaster,Aquaroll, mains lead and wheel lock all in the car and we don't take much in the way of clothes or food.

We tend to carry water/waste in front dinette the wheelclamp/mains lead travel in gas locker, we only carry a 6kg light it lasts about a year, chairs travel in car with rear seats folded, food /clothes in plastic boxes on top, still leaves plenty of room for dog,as uor van is in storage the same as yours we change things on arrival at destination, nose weight about same as yours, i meant 5% on hook
